First day washout

This morning I started working at Dr. F's lab (but I'm actually employed by a different professor, Dr. H) as an organic chem lab assistant. Everything started out okay... I was having fun listening to Beyonce's Déjà Vu on Lynette's little boombox while measuring 7g of tetraethyleneglycol monomethyl ether (that's a mouthful!) and 7.87mL of tetraethylamine (TEA), put 'em in a 250mL three-necked round-bottom flask when Dr. H came by to probably check on what we were doing. I carried the flask to the fume hood. Then when I was about 2 feet away from the hood, I dropped the whole thing and all these glass debris went flying all over the place. My chance of making a good first impression completely went down the drain! It was a disaster... the lab stank so bad after that. :-D.

Was supposed to leave the lab at about 12noon but I had to finish the experiment or else I will have to redo it. I got done at almost 1pm so I had to run down to the University Hall for my 1 o'clock class. I was in so much hurry I forgot to grab my winter coat, and what I had on instead was my lab coat.

Wala lang...
